Why I started Classen Creative and how we can work together!
I’m Angie from Classen Creative and my goal is to simplify the boring details of your business so you can get to the good stuff. I have spent two decades hiring, training, and building teams across several industries and some things remain true, regardless of what type of work you do. 1. A good leader knows they can’t do everything by themselves (even if they are capable of it) and 2. Hiring someone to work for you can change the dynamics of your daily life in the best or worst way. But let me backup and tell you about why I even thought of starting a business to support other small businesses in the first place!
I have had the privilege of working with many amazing creative entrepreneurs and watching these women go from artist or creator to building thriving companies. It’s thrilling to watch a business explode with success on the outside, but I kept noticing that behind the scenes, the same problems would pop up again and again as these women would share:
I’m so stressed out! When should I hire help?
I hired my friend to work with me and now it’s ruined our relationship, what do I do?
I’m drowning in legal issues and I’m afraid to hire because I don’t know how to pay employee taxes. I don’t have time to figure all this out by myself. Where can I find help?
After seeing so many smart and capable people have their momentum interrupted by these common problems I started sharing my own methods and simple resources I have used for years that take the guesswork out of these process problems. Then I started sharing them with my close group of colleagues for free just to help them out. People needed job descriptions, I wrote them! Interviewing was stressful and ambiguous. I created a clear and concise interview guide to make the process simple and repeatable.
Training new hires seemed like an impossible task. I created a training guide to hit the high points of training while they figured out their new hire better.
And so, Classen Creative Consulting was born, as a response to a recurring need I saw from my colleagues and friends, along with my passion and aptitude for team building.
Since then, I have created a library of resources to help with training, onboarding, and hiring. I have plans to release new content to cover employee reviews and company benefits (yes, even for your small business), how to craft a strong team culture, and simple business growth tools.
Whether you are just now considering adding to your team or you have a robust company but know your methods could be improved, I probably have a solution for you.
