Reduce Daily Stress With This Training Tip

And make the most of your hires!

Team with hands in the center

Hiring help is a BIG STEP, but utilizing that new hire sometimes feels overwhelming. This post will give you some easy next steps you can use to utilize your new hire to the fullest, reduce daily stress, and stop wasting time figuring out what to do next!

The most important first step toward feeling instant stress relief- hand over your most time consuming, low level tasks!

What tasks consume your mind each week? Can they be handed off to someone else?

Maybe it's assembling and packing orders? Perhaps bookkeeping is your biggest stress? Could your overflowing inbox be the root of all evil? Be honest about what tasks make you break out in a cold sweat when you think about them and hand them off NOW!

Unread emails are no longer your secret shame!  Maybe just giving someone permission to go in and sort your inbox will relieve the stress of not knowing what you are behind on! Whatever you have been putting off until tomorrow, or next year, can be solved with the help of someone with a new perspective.  Before you start, do this:

  1. Get clear about what you need help with and how much time each task takes.

  2. Spend a few minutes screen recording yourself doing the computer work, or shoot a quick video with your phone of a properly packed order! Give that resource to your employee for easy training.

  3. Check in on your team member to be sure they understand EXACTLY what you want.

Pro tip: Don't be surprised if your employee makes mistakes when they first get started. That is normal! Be quick to kindly correct them so they learn well and YOU BOTH feel confident moving forward. DO NOT BE TEMPTED TO TAKE THE TASK BACK ON. Part of being a good leader is learning how to trust the people you hire to do the job you ask. You might be surprised to learn that they can do the job even better than you can once they get the hang of it. Be open to change and empower the people on your team!

Once you get these stressful tasks off your plate, your creativity to lead your business will only grow stronger. It's a win-win for everyone when you can perform at your best! Keep checking back to learn more tips and tricks about hiring and team building.
